Rotary Club of Boise Southwest, Idaho

We're pleased to announce two new members to our club this month--Norb and Leah Murray--husband and wife-- and both Rotarians who have transferred from Oregon to Boise Southwest!

Norb Murray
Before the “Life of Rotary” took over Norb had a 25-year career in the Marine Corps and business owner of NOAH Enterprises in the event management field.
As a Marine helicopter pilot, he had tours in Vietnam, Washington D.C. and Whidbey Island, Washington along with the places Marines usually go. One tour was with HMX-1 the Presidential Helicopter Squadron flying for presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter.
He joined Rotary in 1996 and was an area rep and assistant governor before becoming District Governor for District 5100 in 2005-06. He has been to Uganda, Poland and Cambodia for Rotary projects. He and Leah participated in a National Immunization Day in India in 2004. He has served as the district 5100 Vocational Service Chair and PolioPlus Chair.

Outside Rotary Norb is a member of the Military Officers Association of America and past president of the Oregon State Council of Chapters. Occasional acting and traveling fill in the empty spaces.

Leah Murray
A fifth generation British Columbian, Leah was born and raised in New Westminster. Pursuing her desire to see the world she was employed by Trans World Airlines as a Flight Attendant, a career which she loved and retired from after 25 years.
On a military charter during the Vietnam War, she met a young Marine Officer who became her husband of 48 years. Leah and Norb have partnered in Rotary where she served as the President of her former club, Tualatin Rotary Club in District 5100, and a trainer at the Rotary Zone Institute.
Other positions Leah has held were Member and President of Legacy Meridian Park Medical Foundation in Oregon, Advisory Board Member of Tualatin Elementary School, The Broadway Rose Theater and a Founding Member and Advisory Board Member of the Golden Leaf Education Foundation, dedicated to building schools in Cambodia.

Leah enjoys British television, traveling the world, cats and roller coasters. Be sure to meet and welcome Leah at our next meeting!
