Rotary Club of Boise Southwest, Idaho

Rotarians hosted 5th grade students from Whittier Elementary School to a party with Santa and Mrs. Santa.

For several years now the Boise Southwest Rotary Club has been hosting a Holiday Party and inviting students from Whittier School. Santa is on hand to hand out presents to each of the students and Mrs. Santa is there to talk to them and make them feel welcome. For some of these students, this is the only Christmas they will have. Many of the students, at Whittier, are very poor and to be invited to a party is a thrill. All the students are very polite and well behaved. The teachers prep them by telling them that they will be lunching with business people and they must all use their manners. It works! The kids are great. This is just one program that the members of the Boise Southwest Rotary Club participate in. Being a Rotarian means putting service above self. This club also provides books for kids at the school as well as sponsoring a swimming program at the YMCA for third grade students.
